CORPUS CHRISTI  ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH

Text Box: Knights of Columbus

Chambersburg Council 1426, chartered in 1909, serves our parish and community.

Our parish priests are members in good standing of the Order and  regularly promote the Knights’ efforts in the community.

FOUR CORE PRINCIPLES

Charity

Unity

Fraternity

Patriotism

Called “the strong right arm of the Church,”, the knights has reaped praises of  world leaders from popes to presidents.

Knights of Columbus render mutual aid and assistance to sick, disabled and needy members and their families. Fellowship is promoted through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works.

Knight’s activities evidence the foresight of its founder, Father Michael J. McGivney, whose cause for sainthood is being investigated by the Vatican. A foremost Catholic fraternal benefit society, the Order has helped families to obtain economic security and stability through its life insurance, annuity and long-term care programs, and has contributed time and energy worldwide to service in communities.

From its beginnings as one council with several members in 1882, the Knights of Columbus now counts more than 14,000 councils with 1.8 million members throughout the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Mexico, Poland, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Panama, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Cuba, Guatemala, and Saipan.

A memorial stone that stands on the parish grounds. Knights support mothers in need, and other charities.
