The purpose of a prayer shawl is to give someone a tangible example of Godís love and care. The shawl is made of yarn so the recipient can wrap up in it and feel Godís loving arms around him or her. A prayer shawl is made with prayer and the recipients are on the prayer chain at Corpus Christi. Our prayer shawls are made at Corpus Christi by our Busy Fingers sewing group. The mission of the Prayer Chain Ministry is to bring prayer to the forefront at Corpus Christi Church.  We want to be known as a powerful church because we are constantly conversing with God for his will.  The bible states that we are to be intercessors for each other (James 5:16).  So we feel that the Lord has called us to be prayer warriors for our brothers and sisters in Christ. ... A loaf of sweet bread is delivered to each Hospice family approximately 2-3 weeks after a clientís death. This kind gesture shows our hospice families that people in the community care about them and their loss.

Volunteer bakers from Corpus Christi help to make this program possible by donating hundreds of loaves of bread each year. Loaves of sweet bread are home baked, wrapped unsliced and delivered to Corpus Christi. A notice for this delivery is placed monthly in the CC church bulletin. Additional bakers are always needed. If you are interested in baking bread to support this special program, please contact Tammy.

The Rosary is one of the most practiced devotions of our times.  We want Corpus Christi to know, love and serve God through prayer and acts of charity.  By praying the Rosary with our friends in elder care facilities, we show that we care about them and they are not forgotten.  We want to encourage them to continue to grow in their personal relationship with God.  Commitment is one hour a month.
