Graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School. 

Retired civilian employee from the Department of the Army

with 35 years of service.


Completed four years of ministerial studies in the

Harrisburg Diaconal Program and was ordained

Permanent Deacon on 22 May 2010.


Married to Theresa, they have three grown children and seven grand children.

Reverend Luis R. Rodriguez  continued…


Most Reverend Father Rodriguez was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico on July 15, 1966 and raised in Brooklyn, NY.  He went to High School and University in Puerto Rico.  He is a graduate of the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico.  He completed his Theology Studies at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia, PA.  He was ordained on May 22, 1993 in St. Patrick Cathedral in Harrisburg, PA by the deceased Most Reverend Nicholas C. Dattilo.  He was transitional deacon at St. Leo the Great; Parochial Vicar at St. Joseph in Danville; St. Theresa in New Cumberland; 4 years in Corpus Christi from 1998-2002; Pastor of St. Benedict The Abbot in Lebanon 2002-2008; Pastor of Mary Mother of the Church Roman Catholic Parish in Mount Joy, PA 2008-2014.  He is the Spiritual Director for the Harrisburg Hispanic Diocesan Cursillo. Fr. Rodriguez has served as Police Chaplain to 4 different chiefs of Police. He has been a member of the EWTN ministry for nearly 18 years.  He presently answers Spanish questions on and has other small spots on EWTN’s programming.  He enjoys teaching the Faith; the outdoors; photography; Chess; cooking.  He believes that all members of the church are vital to a healthy parish and the layman and woman is the first experience most people will have with the Catholic Church.  We are called to give a true witness of a life deeply in love with Jesus Christ and invoking the ever present motherly intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
